TeXtreme® Wide Spread Tow UD Tape
TeXtreme® Wide Spread Tow UD Tapes combine thin construction with a perfectly uniform fiber distribution across the width, resulting in improved mechanical properties compared to standard UD solutions. At the same time, they deliver higher manufacturing efficiency than conventional 20 mm tapes.
For prepreg manufacturers without UD creel capacity, wide dry UD can be directly processed through existing fabric impregnation lines, eliminating the need for complex UD setups while enabling high-quality UD prepreg production. The format also offers a cost-efficient alternative in cases where creeling hundreds of bobbins would otherwise be required, providing valuable flexibility.
Wide Spread Tow UD Tapes can be functionalized with integrated veils or binders to tailor performance. With straight fibers both in-plane and out-of-plane, and the ability to achieve thinner UD than many conventional lines allow, TeXtreme® sets a new benchmark in unidirectional tape technology.
